Are you currently planning a trip to Disney or already have it booked and suddenly find yourself with a ton of questions about the rides? From are there any Water Rides At Disneyland Paris to Can I Take Bags On The Rides or Which Are The Best Rides To Do In Early Magic Time?

I’ve got you covered. Below, you’ll find answers to the 20 most frequently asked questions about Disney rides to help make your visit smoother and more magical.

1. Are There Any Water Rides At Disneyland Paris?

There are no water rides that you can get soaking wet on such as River Rapid type rides.

However there are a few boat rides at Disneyland Paris so you can still enjoy a water ride without getting wet. The following rides feature water.

  • It’s a Small World
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • The Story Book Canal Boats (Le Pays Des Contes de Fee)
  • Thunder Mesa River Boat

Additionally The Cars Road Trip Ride while not a boat ride does feature water so you could get mildly splashed aboard the tram if you are sitting in the right place.

Are There Any Planned Water Rides?

Disneyland Paris have announced a new Lion King Land coming to Walt Disney Studios featuring an exciting water ride. This will be a log flume ride similar in style to Splash Mountain in Tokyo.

“But I don’t fancy getting soaking wet in the cold winter months” I hear you say. Well the clever people at Disney have come up with a super smart idea so that the water levels can be adjusted in different seasons so the ride can be enjoyed all year round and you can stay dry during the cold season and enjoy a soaking on a hot summer’s day.

We can’t wait for this water ride to come to Disneyland Paris however construction is due to start late in 2025 so it’ll be a few more years before we can hop on board.

2. What Is The Fastest Ride At Disneyland Paris?

Avengers Assemble: Flight Force located in the Avengers Campus at Walt Disney Studios is the fastest ride at Disneyland Paris. Reaching speeds up to 57mph it also features several loops and is easily the most intense ride at Disneyland Paris.

3. Are All The Rides Included In The Price Of The Tickets?

Yes, all the rides are included in the price of the tickets. If you purchase a 1 park ticket you can only use the rides in the 1 park that you choose to visit. If you are purchasing the 2 park ticket you can use all the rides in both the parks.

4. Can You Take Bags On Rides At Disneyland Paris?

Yes bags have to be taken on most rides with you, even the upside down rides. They are stowed down by your feet and you just need to loop the strap around your feet to secure it. Oh and make sure they are well fastened as you do not want your possessions flying out.

Some rides such as Star Tours have a basket under your seat. I did have fun trying to squeeze my backpack into the space provided though, so just bear in mind the size of the bag you are taking onto the rides as they need to fit comfortably. As a general rule, if it can fit under an airline seat, it should be fine for most rides. Crossbody bags and bum bags are ideal as they can be moved out of the way of the safety bar.

The only exception for this is RC Racer & Parachute Drop in Worlds of Pixar at Walt Disney Studios. Due to the nature of these rides there is a dedicated bag storage area.

If you’re bringing larger bags or rucksacks, Disney offers Guest Storage near the entrances of both parks. Prices vary depending on the size and number of items, but you can expect to pay around €10–€15 per bag.

Alternatively, there’s additional luggage storage available at the Marne-la-Vallée Chessy train station, just outside the parks. This option is usually a bit more affordable and we paid around €10 for a large locker and managed to fit in a couple of suitcases.

5. What Is Rider Switch And How Does It Work?

Rider Switch also known as parent swap or baby swap is a brilliant time saving solution that Disney have come up with to allow parents/adults to take turns on the rides without having to queue twice.

If both adults are wanting to ride a roller coaster but have someone in their group who does not meet the height requirement or just does not want to go on the ride and cannot be left alone – a child for example then a rider switch is ideal.

Here’s how it works:

The first adult will check with the cast member at the entrance of the ride who will confirm whether Rider Switch is available for this ride and if so will proceed into the queue.

The second adult will wait outside with the child.

The first adult boards the attraction and at the exit to the ride they collect the Rider Switch Pass which is then handed to the second adult.

The first adult will then wait with the child while the second adult gets to bypass the regular queue and boards the attraction with minimal waiting time. Genius!

Which rides use Rider Switch?

Not all the rides at Disneyland Paris offer this service but most of the big thrill rides do. The current list includes:

  • Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
  • Avengers: Flight Force
  • Indiana Jones
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Crush’s Coaster
  • Twilight Tower of Terror

6. How Does Single Rider Work?

Single Rider is a service which allows you to skip the regular queue of a ride and join the single rider queue instead. If a ride vehicle has four spaces for example and there is a group of three people then the Single Rider will fill up the free space.

While it does mean you will be sitting with strangers on the ride the benefit is cutting your waiting time in the queue and the ride can operate at full capacity which cuts waiting times for everyone.

The following rides use the Single Rider Lines:

  • Indiana Jones
  • Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
  • Avengers Assemble: Flight Force
  • Crush’s Coaster
  • Ratatouille
  • RC Racer
  • Spider- Man W.E.B. Adventure
  • Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

7. What Time Do The Rides Close?

Rides are open until the park closes. Depending on the season the park’s closing times vary. During the summer months the Disneyland Park is open until 10.40pm and then the fireworks start and the Walt Disney Studios Park is open until 9pm.

Rides in Fantasyland usually close an hour before the fireworks start to prepare the Castle for the show.

To check ride opening times, simply download the Disneyland Paris App. Head to the Attractions section, select the ride you’re interested in, and you’ll see its operating hours for that day.

8. Which Rides Have Drops?

The following rides have large drops:

  • Indiana Jones
  • Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
  • The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror
  • Crush’s Coaster
  • Avengers Assemble: Flight Force

Pirates of the Caribbean has two small drops. I do not like rides with drops but I was fine on this ride.

10. Which Rides Are Safe For Pregnant Women At Disneyland Paris?

Disney has introduced another thoughtful system this time designed especially for expectant mothers. The Bambi Band (love the name!) is a wristband that grants priority access to select rides and attractions throughout the parks.

It allows pregnant guests and up to four companions to use shorter lines for attractions that are safe during pregnancy, helping to reduce time spent standing in long queues. As an added perk, the band also offers access to priority viewing areas for parades, fireworks, and shows.

How And Where Can You Get A Bambi Band?

Just take a recent medical certificate & ID to either City Hall in the Disneyland Park or Studio Services in the Walt Disney Studios Park. Alternatively if you are staying in a Disney Hotel then reception can arrange this for you too.

Disney has indicated that the following rides are not recommended for pregnant guests. While they’re not strictly off-limits, it’s entirely your decision whether to ride. Keep in mind that some may be jerky, bumpy, or have safety restraints that could be uncomfortable or press against your bump.

⚠️Casey Jr: The Circus Train, Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups, Peter Pan’s Flight, Phantom Manor, Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White (Blanche-Neige et Les Sept Nains), The Adventure of Pinocchio, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, Ratatouille, Slinky Dog, Spider-Man W.E.B Adventure, Les Tapis Volants (Flying Carpets Over Agrabah) and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril features a single loop, while Avengers: Flight Force and Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain include multiple loops.

13. Do Rides Close When It Rains?

Most rides still operate when it is raining – however in heavier rain or storms then the outdoor roller coasters & attractions may close.

The Best Rides to do to avoid the rain are the Indoor Rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White, Pinocchio, Star Tours and Hyperspace Mountain in the Disneyland Park and Ratatouille, Avengers Flight Force and Spiderman W.E.B Adventure in the Walt Disney Studios Park.

14. What is Disney Premier Access?

Disney Premier Access is a paid service that lets you skip the regular lines for select rides and enjoy quicker access, often boarding within minutes. Currently, 16 attractions across both parks offer this service.

There are two ways to purchase Disney Premier Access:

  • Disney Premier Access One: This is a pay-per-ride option where you select a specific attraction, choose a 1-hour return window, and use the pass to skip the queue during that time.
  • Disney Premier Access Ultimate: This pass gives you access to all eligible Premier Access rides, allowing you to skip the line at each attraction once, at any time during the day, no need to reserve a time slot in advance.

How Much Does Premier Access Cost?

While the Premier Access Ultimate can start from €90 per person in low season to €190 per person in peak season.

Other rides that my teen really enjoyed were Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Tours, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast and RC Racer.

17. Is There Anywhere To Leave My Pushchair/Stroller While On The Ride?

Yes, there are designated buggy (stroller) parking areas near all the kids’ rides. For some of the more adult-focused attractions, if there isn’t an official parking spot, you can usually leave your buggy where others have left theirs.

Just be sure to take any valuables with you, as unfortunately, items can go missing. A helpful tip is to bring a bike lock to secure the wheels. Cast Members may need to move buggies to keep the area organized, so adding a bright ribbon or another identifiable marker can make yours easier to find.

18. Which Rides Are Best To Do In Extra Magic Time?

Extra Magic Time gives guests staying at a Disney Hotel exclusive early access to the parks before they open to the general public. Both Disneyland Paris Parks participate in Extra Magic Time, which runs from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. This allows guests to enjoy popular attractions with shorter wait times and fewer crowds.

Keep in mind that not all rides are available during this hour. For up-to-date ride availability, check the official Disneyland Paris App, as this can change daily.

To make the most of Extra Magic Time, focus on high-demand attractions that usually have long queues later in the day. In Disneyland Park, these include Big Thunder Mountain, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain.

Over in Walt Disney Studios Park, head straight to Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille: The Adventure, Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

19. Can Larger Guests Still Ride?

While many Disney attractions are designed to be accessible for a wide range of guests, certain rides have safety restrictions that may be affected by a guest’s height or body size. Some attractions do offer larger seats to accommodate different needs. If you’re unsure whether a ride will be suitable for you, feel free to speak with a Cast Member at the entrance and they’ll be happy to provide guidance.

Crush’s Coaster is one ride that some larger guests may find more challenging to board comfortably. There is a Facebook group you can join called Plus Size at DLP for more useful tips.

20. Help! I Don’t Like Rides What Else Is There To Do?
